Egypt has the oldest civilization in the world. Ancient Egypt was a civilization which originated along the banks of the River Nile, and reached three Ancient Egypt eras: Old Kingdom, Middle Kingdom and New Kingdom. Its territory is divided into the Eastern Desert and Red Sea coastline, the Sinai Peninsula and a large occidental territory dominating the oasis. Historically, it was divided into Upper and Lower Egypt. The Nile was the key of the success of the Egyptian civilization, as the fertile silt deposited along the banks of the River Nile after the floods helped a lot in good agriculture, freeing people to dedicate more time and resources to cultural, technological and artistic development.
